Who is Tim Durant Jr.?

A dedicated community advocate and graduate of Shepherd University, Tim Durant Jr. has been a cornerstone of Ward 8 since 2016. With over a decade of experience crafting policies that stabilize at-risk families, his focus remains on sustainable, transformative change for the entire District.

Tim's professional journey across agencies like DYRS, DCPS, and MPD is defined by a deep commitment to empowerment. He is recognized for his unique ability to listen to residents and translate community concerns into measurable, legislative outcomes.

For Tim, advocacy is more than a title—it's a lifelong mission. As a resident of Ward 8, he prioritizes building authentic relationships and championing the voices of those often overlooked. He believes that true leadership is rooted in service, transparency, and a relentless pursuit of equity.

Currently managing the Achievement Center in Southeast, Tim oversees vital programs for youth and families. His leadership is driven by the conviction that when we invest in each other, we create a legacy of strength and success for the next generation.
